Assume that games will played as
scheduled, unless the weather conditions are really bad (downpour, lightning,
or thunder). Look to the web for cancellation notices. If you don't
see one, go to the field. You can call your coach, but he probably won't
know any more than you do, and, hearing you're reluctance to get wet, he may be
tempted to cancel the game from home. Soccer games are played in the rain.
The kids usually enjoy it; the parents don't.
On occasion, games may be cancelled by the club and rescheduled for a
later date. Cancelled games will be played at the same scheduled time,
one week after the normal end of the season. If games are cancelled by
the NUSC, the cancellation will be posted on the web. Keep an eye on the
weather with NOAA Radar. Please read

Games may be cancelled at the field, by mutual agreement of
the coaches and the referee, if weather
conditions prohibit play, and it appears reasonable to assume that conditions
will not improve within the time allotted for the game. It is reasonable to have one or more games
suspended or cancelled due to weather, without affecting other games.
Games will continue as scheduled unless
1.
Lightning or Thunder - In the event of lightning
or thunder, the field must be cleared of all children for
30 minutes. If the event occurs prior to
the game, or within the first few minutes of the game, the game can start or
continue following a 30 minute, lightning free period, provided there is enough
time remaining to not interfere with the next game. If one half is played, the game shall count,
and not be rescheduled.
2.
A heavy downpour will pause or end a game. Parents and players should seek shelter in
their vehicles for a few minutes to determine whether or not the rain will
pass. Games may continue if time
permits.
3.
Games may be cancelled and rescheduled if field
conditions do not support play. Playing
of a drenched field causes extensive damage; recovery periods are long.
